Recipe For The Best Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

Happy Monday!

It is that time of the year again! Time to carve pumpkins, and roast the seeds! Fresh roasted pumpkin seeds are one of my favorite things! I could live off of them, and once you eat one you can’t stop!

My husband and I carved our pumpkins this past weekend. We have a whole tradition for carving pumpkins. While carving, we watch a Halloween movie and have a cocktail. We also keep our pumpkin hidden from each other till the very end and then determine who’s is better. Just a little friendly competition 🙂 Then we get to my favorite part…roasted pumpkin seeds!

I have tried many different ways of cooking pumpkin seeds. My Favorite recipe is plain and simple. I’m not one for all the fancy stuff. Plus, I must have my pumpkin seeds be on the dark, crunchy side! The crunchier, the better.

This year, the came out superb! Salty, crunchy, with great coloring! I can’t wait to share this recipe with you! I am hoping that many of you still have some carving to do so that you can try this recipe!

After tasting these, I told my husband that we might have to get some more pumpkins just so I can get the seeds. He didn’t really like that idea. 🙂 However, he did agree that the roasted pumpkin seeds turned out really great this year.

I hope everyone enjoys their last week of October, and has a fantastic Halloween! I can’t wait to see all of the awesome costumes this  year!

Did you have a favorite recipe for pumpkin seeds?

Cheers,

Victoria

P.S. I think my husband won the pumpkin carving contest this year. Here is a picture of our finished pumpkins. Mine is the first one and his is the second one.

Must See Movie! The Hilarious Ghostbusters: Answer The Call

Ghostbusters: Answer The Call is fun for the whole family!

I am telling you right now to go and buy the new Ghostbusters movie and watch it! It is such a funny, thrilling ride and the special effects are phenomenal!

To be honest, I was a little apprehensive to watch the newest addition is the Ghostbusters legacy. I wasn’t sure what to expect. Were they going to try to redo the first Ghostbusters? What direction were they going to take!? On top of the millions of questions I had, I had heard A LOT of bad reviews. Needless to say, I was nervous.

First off, I want you to know that Ghostbusters: Answer The Call is its own movie. It was not, in any way trying to redo the first Ghostbusters. It wasn’t trying to disrespect the original movies in any way. In fact, if you play close attention it pays homage to the original Ghostbusters crew! I give it big kudos for that!

Ghostbusters: Answer The Call

The stars of this movie are: Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth. Let me start by saying what an excellent cast! These women (and guy) were great together. I was very curious as to how Melissa McCarthy was going to be. Not because she isn’t funny, but because she can sometimes be over the top vulgar for me. However, she was nowhere near vulgar in this movie! She was very clean, and very very funny!

In fact, the whole movie was pretty clean which I was very happy to see. Kristen Wiig was her normal hilarious self, Kate McKinnon was amazing as crazy genius Holtzmann, and Leslie Jones really brought her A game. The person who stole the movie for me though, was Chris Hemsworth. Thor himself. He was so incredibly goofy and funny in this movie! It was so refreshing to see him play something other than the tough macho man.

On top of a great cast, the special effects in this movie were awesome! I don’t want to say too much for those of you that haven’t seen it, but the ghosts were very incredible, and the colors were so vibrant!

Please do yourself a favor and watch this movie! Do not listen to all those nay sayers out there! Just because the ghostbusters are all women does not make this a horrible movie! (Yes, that is what people are saying.)

Have you seen Ghostbusters: Answer The Call yet? What are your thoughts?

Cheers,

Victoria

The Perfect Book For October! The Haunted Hillerman House

Do you love romances? Do you love murder mysteries? How about a combination of the two? If you are nodding your head yes, then I have the PERFECT book for you!

 The Haunted Hillerman House.

The Haunted Hillerman House

You will be sucked in from the moment you start reading. You literally cannot put it down, and if for some reason you have to, it’s all you can think about.

It is by the author Shannon Bailey. She writes a lot of historical romances. I am a huge fan of hers, and own all of her books. They are all amazing, but I have to say, this one is my absolute favorite! I’ve read this book too many times to count.

One of my favorite things about this book, is that it’s perfect for any age. It’s kept very clean, which is a rare treat now-a-days. Yes, it is a tale of romance but, Mrs. Bailey doesn’t take it too far.

It starts off with our heroine Sela Whitley coming home for a relaxing family visit over Halloween. Her mom is filling her in with the latest town gossip when she mentions that a mystery man has bought the terrifying Haunted Hillerman House. The house that has a tragic past filled with love and murder. When Sela goes to introduce herself, the last thing she expects to find is the incredibly handsome James Stanford. As a relationship blooms between Sela and James, they began to uncover the mystery behind the haunted Hillerman house.

That’s all I’m going to say. I really, really encourage you to read this book. It is a pretty quick read being only 216 pages and is truly a great, mesmerizing story. You instantly fall in love with the characters and are eager to find out the mystery along with Sela and James.

If you don’t own it yet, get your copy today! Below is a link.

Have you read this book? What did you think of it?

Cheers,

Victoria

Crockpot Spinach And Artichoke Dip

the best Crockpot Spinach and Artichoke Dip.

As everyone knows, it is football season.I don’t really care about football…like at all. However, I enjoy the food that goes along with football games. I will gladly sit there and snack on all the food while others pay attention to the game. But more than just eating the food, I enjoy cooking it. I am always looking for appetizer recipes to cook on game day.

As well all know, chips and dip are a common appetizer for watching any sporting event. For most, the go to dip is salsa, but at my house it’s spinach and artichoke. We LOVE spinach and artichoke dip! When it’s game day my husband is asking me to make it.

I cannot eat artichokes by themselves. I don’t know if it’s a texture or taste thing, but I can’t do it. Now, when they’re mixed with spinach and cheese, I can gobble them up! Lets take a look at the best crockpot spinach and artichoke dip recipe ever!

6 Scariest Haunted Houses in America

As everyone knows I am a HUGE fan of Halloween. It’s my favorite holiday, and I love celebrating it from the moment October arrives. And what better way to celebrate Halloween then with Haunted Houses!

I have been going to haunted houses and haunted corn mazes since I can remember. Of course when I was younger, the haunted houses I visited were appropriate for children, but as I got older, the scarier they became. For me, the best haunted houses and haunted corn mazes are in Illinois. My family grew up in Illinois and we try to go back to visit as often as we can. We generally make those visits during…you guessed it, October. The amount of detail that goes into these haunted houses/haunted corn mazes is phenomenal!

So, as you might have guessed it, this blog post is a guide to the scariest haunted houses this year! Hopefully there is one near you that you can go and enjoy!

Month One Of Blogging: The Good And The Busy

Blogging

Today marks one month of blogging for me. One month of blogging and one month of running my Etsy Shop. And what a crazy month it has been! It is a lot, A LOT harder than people realize. It is also a lot of fun, and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

I will not lie, this month has been quite the learning curve for me. Figuring out how to run a blog, promote my blog, etc. At times it has been very challenging and I have thought to myself, “What the hell am I getting myself into?” Then I read wonderful comments or figure something new out and it makes it all worth while.

I have also been busier than I have been in a very long time. Between my Etsy shop, my blog, and my baby girl, I feel like I hardly have time to sit down! In the mornings I work on my blog. Promoting, writing, replies to emails, etc. and then in the afternoon, I am working on Etsy orders. It’s been nuts!

But besides being extremely busy, things have been extremely good. I have connected with tons of other wonderful bloggers who have given tips, and have left so many great comments, and I have seen people take an interest in my creations which has made my little shop start to pick up. I have felt very blessed this past month.

To all the other bloggers that have just started and are feeling disappointed, don’t give up! Yes, it isn’t easy. You don’t go from zero to 10,000 likes in one night. Heck, I still haven’t even come close to reaching 10,000 likes. But with the right tools, and hard work, you can really make your blog into something. Just keep going!

I’m curious, what was your first month of blogging like?

Cheers,

Victoria

Get One Of These Beautiful Vintage Teacup Candles

Happy Monday!

I hope that everyone has had a splendid weekend! Mine was very busy working on Etsy orders, and creating new things for my Etsy shop. What I created this weekend has to be my favorite thing to date. Vintage teacup candles! Oh, how I love them so!

Recently, I have been on the hunt for vintage teacups specifically for this batch of candles. I know I could have ordered them online, but there is something special about being able to go out and find them myself. And that is exactly what I did. I found six beautiful old teacups from two different antique stores in a town near me. Three of them are from the same set, while the other three are each different.

Vintage Teacup Candles
The six wonderful teacups I found.

The ones on the right, are extremely old and have cracks and chips in them. Some people may not like the fact that I still chose to use them for  candles, but I feel as if they just add more charm to them. I sincerely hope someone loves them as much as I do.

These candles are 100% natural soy candles with a wonderfully relaxing lavender scent (my favorite). They have an all cotton wick so there is no need to worry about any heavy metals polluting the air when your candle is lit! And to top it all off, you are able to reuse the teacup once the candle is finished! I love being able to create Eco-friendly products for not only myself, but for other people! If you or someone you know can’t live without one, you can find them on http://www.etsy.com/shop/VictoriasCraftStudio.

I must say I thoroughly enjoyed the whole candle making process! I can’t wait to do my next batch!

Without further ado, here they are! My first batch of vintage teacup candles!

Vintage Teacup Candles

What is your favorite candle scent? I would love to hear ideas for my next batch!

Cheers,

Victoria
